Tap Smart Tube on hard surface to ensure LyoSphere is in lower chamber and not clinging to inside of Cap
|

Write down how much time has elapsed since blood was drawn from donor

Blood should be used within 30 minutes of blood draw, if possible
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|

It is important to minimize the time required to add blood to the set of three Smart Tubes

Remove the caps from the Smart Tubes
-
Line up the Smart Tubes in a rack
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
-
Rock Vacutainer at least 5 times
-
Remove stopper from Vacutainer
-
Be sure to comply with your institution's regulations for safely handling blood samples
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
-
Withdraw 1.0 milliliters of whole blood from Vacutainer

Place the pipette tip into the hole in the Smart Tube revealed by removing the Plug and dispense the blood into the Lower Chamber of the Smart Tube
-
IMPORTANT: ADD EXACTLY 1 MILLILITER OF BLOOD TO EACH SMART TUBE. ADDING MORE OR LESS THAN 1 MILLILITER OF BLOOD WILL CHANGE REACTION CHEMISTRY AND WILL MAKE SAMPLE UNRECOVERABLE
